web-designing4

With the outbreak of the corona virus pandemic in 2020, the world has seen some of the most horrific losses and outcomes from their personal and professional lives all over the world. The Covid-19 pandemic has practically brought travel and tourism to a halt, with about 90 percent of the world residing in countries with travel bans. Although it is well known that many sectors have been devastated by the pandemic, it has had a brutal effect on global tourism, which in turn accounts for 10% of global GDP.

And that is why the tourism sector as a whole faced an unprecedented challenge in the face of Covid-19 last year and it continues till date including many travel companies and several airlines, industry experts are betting on some unprecedented and creative innovations to push the sector to finally recover. First of all, travelers need to feel secure about ensuring their safety and health, but this will take time and will not be nearly enough.

Major Aspects that Might Change given the Pandemic

  • Contactless travel

This may be the most vital aspect where the travel enthusiasts might want to be careful. Many countries and various tourism organizations are planning to implement advanced technologies that will keep travelers safe from spreading the virus.

Keeping in mind even the slightest hygiene protocols in place, the infection will be susceptible to spreading during check-in, protection, immigration, boarding, or even simply exchanging travel documents or other legal requirements, subjecting corona virus transmission to both workers and passengers. It would be necessary to automate these processes. With biometrics now being commonly used, while hand scanners & fingerprinting will be rolled out, their use will only see the upward trend.

  • Digital or virtual travels

To function effectively with touch less travel & digital health passport technology, more and more travel firms, airlines and hotels will need to accept digital travel. Although many organizations are very well advanced in their digital journey, to regain trust, several other companies will have to get up to pace up to adjust to a new standard and effectively respond to the changed consumer behavior.

  • Digitized passports

Passengers are likely to consider traveling dangerous before the world sees a vaccine against Covid-19. Travelers experience an improved sense of protection through the use of masks, clear sanitization, and screening, according to a study by the International Air Transport Organization. Travel companies and airlines are creating digital health passports to facilitate travel more.
